A chart explaining the meaning of ATC light gun signals for aircraft. It features color-coded signals: green for go or safe, red for stop or danger, white for return, and flashing signals for caution or special instructions. The chart details actions for ground, signal, and air phases of aircraft movement at airports.

Lost Comm Procedures

The tower will use Light Gun Signals to communicate with an aircraft that has experienced a radio failure. If on the ground, the aircraft should turn toward the tower and flash the landing lights several times, then wait for the light signal (It may take a few minutes if the tower is busy). Communication can also be attempted by switching to another frequency (if the radio is still working) or calling the tower on a cellphone.
